Trawler no More
This old trawler was brought ashore many years ago during a massive tide..It seems it will never see the sea again, destined to turn into a rusting hunk over how ever many years into the future…Quite a bit history about this here boat actually…I do have a colored version back in my recent PF, but the subject just cries out for a mono workover…..cheers for looking.

Nice B&W image, shame about the boat but makes for great shots like this..

Whoa! This was a great find, and the colour version was already a fav of mine, but the bw treatment really gives it an extra dimension. Outstanding.

Hey Robert, this is one of my favourite subjects to photograph. This trawler at one point was destined to be a resturant, before plans and funds were quashed. Pity what a place to have a meal!
I was lucky enough to know someone that is high up in the airfield that allowed me and my husband to go over and climb up and stand on the deck of this beautiful lady… definately a memorbale experience as i don’t like heights and it is a very BIG boat hehe!
Great shot and your right Monchrome suits it very well indeed!
xx Sam

Thats fine Sam…I’d love to get on top of this thing as well…don’t worry, I was looking how the hell I could get up there…need a rope ladder..!!...It does make for a good subject, will have to back when there’s a thunderstorm building on the horizon I reckon….cheers, Rob.

You are so right about the mono makeover – this was amazing enough in colour but this version really accentuates the surreal quality to it. And curiously at the same time it looks like it should actually be where it is – it looks so organic to the rest of the landscape. Brilliant.

It’s a lovely effect with the black and white, the bushes almost look like a raging ocean beneath it – great shot :)
