I love Corel in general but I own only an old version (V8) of Corel Draw and Corel Photopaint. Perhaps this would be a good idea to consider as a christmas gift. Seems to have a lot of new features now!

Wonderful! But, are you painting with a mouse, or the much more sensitive tablet and “pen”? Look into the Wacom brand but there must be others…

Three years ago my grown sons gave me a Wacom tablet and the ArtRage painting program. That got me going. Like you, I used to paint with paint but had mostly stopped due to more than enough messy things around here. Lay on the digital paint, Robin!!

So glad I could be of help – Now you have got this far the world is truly your Oyster. Painter is a difficult app to master. If you thought Photoshop was powerful Painter is mind blowing when it comes to reproducing natural media.

Even with essentials you can do some masterpieces.

Be sure to check out the forums in the group for some great resources, tuts and tips. I will contact you regarding others too…
