I’ve been enjoying this prayer recently. The first two words speak volumes.
“Our” – not individual, not by ourselves, but OUR. Together with Christ. This is consistent with the heart of God revealed in the epistles, especially Ephesians. God is after a corporate people. A bride.
“Father” – not just anyone, but those who have received something of the heavenly life within. Those who have received Jesus into their hearts. We pray with those who also claim that God is their father.
