Peebles Heron
This shot was taken in Peebles, at the rear of Brown Brothers Garage. The Burn is the Cuddy & the Heron’s are regular visitors. They are quite nervous but with all the movement going on around them they seem reasonably tolerant of a little attention but not too much.
Peebles Heron belongs to the following groups:

Hi Mark, sorry I’m busy out in the real world. many thanks its really not that hard to get this kind of shot. Well, not where I work. There’s a wee burn runs past the back of the garage. The heron’s have got used to the normal activety & as a result tolerate attention much more than normal. People walk past less than 10 feet away & althought the heron’s stay alert they don’t fly off. I just stood quietly about 20 feet or slightly more away & took a few shots. Had this been a mile upstream the birds wouldn’t have allowed the same level of attention, they would have flown off. So its really down to the location. Almost the town centre. Kinda cheating I guess. Thanks again Mark. Great to hear from you as I respect your work a lot. TTFN

Nice one Robin I read your reply to Mark Gardner and i couldn’t but wonder if the heron was deaf, his heron hearing had hopelessly had it. lol

A super shot Robin and I saw it at the Eastgate at the exhibition. Your work and
Craig Mcguires were great. I think it is a perfect shot and you are very talented. My thoughts are you should have another exhibition at the Eastgate and organise it yourself. Your info about redbubble and you was very good. H

Excellent shot! Used to see Herons in a few inlets near Boston. My black lab, Titus, was intrigued by them. Oddly, he’d just sit and watch … and I think they watched him.
