Robin, I’m really impressed with the overall clarity in this shot and beautiful colors. I would have liked to have seen this slightly offset rather than straight on, but then again, it really grabs your attention this way. Did you take any other perspectives/angles when you shot this? By the way, I love the people in the background…they add that little bit of human interest that makes me smile. :)

your wee boat is much better than ma wee boat …still dinny ken what split tone is but its feckin great lookin! yev got tae tell me!

Basically you have a BW image. You add a graduated filter to that image. Most grad filters go from say dark blue to clear. Split tone grads have two or more colours & are called split tone for that reason.
