Saltwick Bay Shield Reef and Reflected Cliffs
The evening sun only catches these cliffs for a few short weeks every year. The unusual disks are the remains of a fosilised reef structure (I believe). Dating back to the Jurassic. You can find dinosaur footprints in the sandstones here.

You’ve nailed it. The lighting is spot on, the composition is layered and balanced, smoothness mixed with roughness, and I like how the reflection ends just before the foreground. Great set-up and deserved result. You can have 3 rashers instead of 2 for this one!

That is a perfect reflection! Well Done – you had your chin in the sea didn’t you? lol :O)
And how did you get the sea to hold it’s breath for a moment like that?
But then that shows the stunning skill of your artistry!

With that potentialy chaotic amount of rock on the wave platform you’ve really found a fantastic feature to make the shot work, lovely cliffs and reflection too, perfect artistry Rob.

Cheers Peter, I did :-) funnily I did a web search on Saltwick and found this a mere snip at 600 quid. If only I could sell mine for that, it would be caviar on toast and champagne for breckfast, he, he!

Thanks adg, the tide had just gone out and left this serene and stunning scene. If only I could make this happen everytime I go out with the camera :-)

600 quid! Too right that’s a bit rich. Yours is way better value.
