this is my first piece created on my new iPad using an app called Sketchbook Express. This was quite a lot of fun. I saw some videos of other artists doing ipad paintings so I picked up a couple of important tips right away. The tricky part is that the tip of your finger can be big enough to get in the way when doing fine line work so you zoom right in when doing line work to compensate. But if you zoom in a lot you lose perspective. So instead of doing the line work first (as I usually do) you instead do the solid background colours first, get the overall shapes right, and then zoom in to do the finer work. I’m glad I figured that out before starting, becuase it helped a lot and the process was actually pretty easy. Maybe a little more time consuming than usual but being able to work on it on the couch, in bed, etc was more than enough to make up for that.
