t-shirt skin tones (with hex codes) by

This design is really intended as a useful tool for myself (and to share with you all). One of the frustrating things about t-shirt design is getting your colours right after they convert to the redbubble standard range of colours (in order to match how it will actually print).
Skin tones in particular have always driven me nuts and often I’ve given up (after trying several different tones, and after pumping up the colour saturation to little avail) and I’ve just settled with something vaguely ok.
But no more !!! I took about 300 colour tones and put them onto a t-shirt on redbubble (keeping my posting hidden) and then copied back the results after the conversion and picked out these ones which still looked like useful skin tones (instead of the zombie tones you usually end up with).
Now if you sample your colours from here they will remain exactly the same after the conversion (yes, I tested that too, just to be sure).
Yay !! :) It will certainly save me some time. I hope it helps you too.
Oh, and while I was at it I figured I’d make it into a design that someone might even want to buy. The meaning being that skin tone is not important (in the world outside of tee design that is).

If you prefer a version of this design without the hexidecimal codes on each square, see here:

or if you prefer a more elegant version with the added text “Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s social conditioning” :
