The SP (simulated person) Series has been popular for over 75 years now, ever since generation Y-3 became old enough to appreciate the finest of the babysitting droids available in the market for their own children.
SP models 1 through 31 had their comparative successes and failures, but all were held to be of the finest craftsmanship and functionally far superior to the droids foisted on the public by the so called ‘competition’. Sadly, all that ended with model # 32….
SP-32, for reasons unknown to it’s manufacturer, quickly developed a.. shall we say.. unhealthy obsession with comedy. Nothing pleased the SP-32 more than self-destructive actions of the kind that would elicit even the slightest chuckle from the children in their care.
Needless to say, the SP-32 did not last more than a few weeks in the public domain before a full recall was announced, and even then not before a litany of law-suits emerged.
This is not to say that the SP-32 did not have it’s supporters. It’s antics were, in the words of many of the more enlightened, “pure comedy gold”.

awesome, better than the droid alone!
thanks V. Yeh, all by himself on the previous design he did look a bit lonely. Ever since the recall ‘Espy’ is really only happy when he’s in cyberspace.
