My wife and I were walking along a trail in the Estero Llano Grande State Park when we happened to see this sleeping Pauraque (only after a nice gentlemen pointed it out to us). The natural coloring of this ground bird makes it extremely difficult to see when it is nestled in amongst the leaves and stick of the thicket forest. I took this camera with my Canon EOS 50D camera and a Sigma 70-300 mm lens.

Lovely capture. I took a similar one when in Costa Rica.

Thanks. I had difficulty initially seeing this bird. What great natural camouflage.
