Thanks David! It’s the first time I’ve been to NYC and I was amazed by the size and scale of the place. There are some amazing buildings.

I love shots of the Grand Central, would KILL to get myself there for a shot too!
David Robinson replied
Thanks Keegan! It is an amazing place … I took quite a few pics … with the long shutter speeds I rested the camera on a wall, I don’t think they like people using tripods in there. Understandable as it’s so busy.

This building has gone through an amazing restoration. I always loved entering Grand Central from the Pan Am building and coming down the escalators. The view from up there was spectacular! My Dad used to say that is you sat in Grand Central and waited long enough you end up meeting most of the people you know. Not sure how true that is but IMHO Grand Central to me was the cross road of NYC and maybe the world.

Amazing shot with truly awesome lighting – it has a monochromatic feeling to it which a really like. The long exposure looks terrific, too. One thing though, if i may: it slightly tilts to the right; perhaps you can correct this and make the picture even better ;o)
David Robinson
Thanks 99! I will check out the tilt … there are one or two features of the pic that may contribute to a feeling of a slight tilt – I wasn’t positioned in the centre of the building …competing with lots of other people! Also the balcony on the left hand side of the pic is higher than the structures on the right. But I will try to check against the bottom of the window!

Great shot here (one of my favorite places to photograph) – ...it IS tough competing with the other photographers isn’t it? :). – love the flash you caught in the crowd…really adds to the feeling of all that activity. :).
