Seated Male Nude (Clenching the Foot)(Ink)-
This is a recent figure study drawing that was produced on heavyweight paper. The figure was briefly sketched first with pencil, then I used a sable brush and india ink to selectively add a darker and refined line to the form. I also used the ink as a wash in some areas to capture interesting shadows. It is (in my opinion) elegant in the simplistic line quality, and truly captured the essence of the male model. The painting of this piece is currently in progress. The original dimensions are 15in. X 11in. It was created in 2008.

Thanks for the good comments. Though the work has complexity in the expression and hands holding the foot. I feel it is a very nice drawing with the ink enhancing it. Thanks again, take good care, Peace-

Usually you see that type of thing in charcoal, but I really like the india ink. It makes it richer and more expressive. You are very good with the human figure!

Your stroaks in this are very bold and masculine….and I love how you intentionally slouched his posture…good appeal!

Thanks for commenting. This is a good pose initially and I like the permanence and visual boldness that ink allows for. Hope you take care, stay in touch, Peace-
