Meerkats (Etching)-
This is a metal etching that was printed on white paper. The original dimensions of the copper plate are very small, being 3in. X 5in. A combination of a hard ground and aquatint process was used to create the image of the two meerkats. In it’s miniscule size there is a delicate line and shading quality, and the expressions of the subjects seem to convey this. The companionship and interaction of them creates a lovely composition, from their hand positions to the balance of their curling tails. It was printed in 2004.

It has very unique texture. It may come from the metallic texture. Those two are so lively expressed. There is a lot of movement in the work.

Thanks for your good comments. The plate was produced with aquatint (spay paints) and etched with a hard ground. There is a lot of character to this, glad you like it. Take care, Peace-

Thanks again for the uplifting compliment. This plate is very small, but has a great deal of character within the delicate line work and shading. Glad to hear back from you. Again, take care, and keep in touch, Peace-
