Self-portrait (Cooling Tears of a Burning Heart)-
This was produced with a variety of mediums. After loosely sketching in the composition, acrylic paint was laid in and followed by colored pencil which was used to refine and detail areas of the figure (being a representation of myself). The position of the body is reminiscent of classical renaissance paintings, my one hand raised upward towards the heavens and my head tilted slightly back. The weight of the figure falls through the shoulder and down the body. The elements of the fire burning through the chest and the tears streaking down the chest create a nice flow for the viewers eye, and represent a simple dichotomy which works on multiple levels. It was designed and completed in 2005.

Thanks for commenting. it is somewhat a visual, and emotional cycle (we all have times that are painful, and those which are soothing and relieving). Hope you take care and stay in touch, Peace-
