Anyone who has experienced a loco up close before will so relate to the emotion this image represents – the thunderous roar of the thumping diesel engine approaching, the deafening horn no doubt going (due to your position), the ground absolutely shaking because of the weight of these things, and all in such a beautiful setting.
As the train passes, the roar turns to an overwhelming thunder as it goes by, then the clickety clack of the carriages – perhaps the odd squeaky wheel screaming along, followed by the sound of it fading as the train disappears into the distance, leaving you again in the silence of a beautiful surrounding.
Thanks for the memories. Well, I feel like I’ve been there – that’s the idea of a photo, right?
Of course, the train could be stopped at the time (which is a guess based on your location), but why let that possibility wreck a good story eh?

  • Robert Elliott replied

Thanks for such a wonderful comment Adam.
Was the train moving, rather not comment other than to say why let the truth get in the way of a good story, or based on your comment, in the way of a good pic. Thanks again, cheers
