This is a wonderful capture Robert you were very lucky, how irate can these males get to protect their young? How far away were you?

Thanks Kate. I was between 10 to 15 feet away. They are a bit slow on land as they can only drag themselves along with their front flippers, however the male weighs about 4 ton, so one had to be quite watchful as there were a number of others around me at the time.
