This is Aurora Borealis mixed with sunset. Picture taken on April 5th 2011 at Hillesøy island just outside Tromsø, Norway. In the distance is the Haja island, with its caracteristic shark fin shapen mountain. The winter is slowly letting go, and spring is approaching. But still there’s plenty of snow in the mountains.
Picture was taken at 10:30 in the evening. At this latitude the sun is shining all 24 hours of the day during the summertime, (midnight sun). This time of year is rapidly coming, and this is why we still can see the remains of the sunset.
