This image from march 11th 2011 shows Vengsøya island. Just a short drive from the city of Tromsoe, Norway, I saw this beatiful scenery. It is quite special to get violet Aurora in the picture. The color is not visible to the eye. It seem like daytime, but this was late in the evening. The moon was behind me and light up the landscape.
Image is cropped. I’ve removes some beach in the foreground.
This beach is very close to the road, so it’s easy access for anyone.
Canon EOS 7D, with Tokina 11-16 f/2.8. ISO 800, 20 secs expousure
