This is Wastwater in the English Lake District, the location that was voted “Britain’s favourite view”. On evening like this it’s not difficult to understand why. Winter has just finished and the mountain snow is melting away. The sky had been a perfect blue all day with not a cloud in sight. As the sun dipped lower the hills turned a deep red colour and the blue haze of the day turned an orange red colour. The lake had settled to a perfect mirror, the only ripples being caused by a dog playing in the lake on the far shore. This is good for the soul.
