I love this building and have watched it decay over the years only to find that it takes on a new beauty. Twenty five years ago I would walk past it on my way to work. The second hand type writer shop had dusty old models it sold to students whilst a black and white cat would sunbath in the window. The cafe on the end would have a queue of builders buying breakfast. It now shows a different side of city life but all that is about to pass. The posters have gone, the wire grills have gone up and the developers are moving in. I hope it gets the new life it deserves.
I have this print on the kitchen wall at home and it always draws comments. It really does need to be printed large to be fully appreciated.
This print was best in class in the Saddleworth open art exhibition in 2007.
