This bird is part of a large nesting colony that occupies an island in the middle of the great salt lake, Northern Utah. I love to go to this location because of its worldwide importance and uniqueness. This bird had just returned from its feeding ground and was looking for its chick to feed. Look at my other recently uploaded pelican feeding pic (“mom whats for lunch”) for more detail on where/when/how etc this was created. Great trip and great day.

Very nice with the blue sky in the background. Pelicans have a wonderfully large wingspand. Great capture!
Kris thanks for looking.
