this montage is of the same young osprey. I had the fortune to be there when the parents kicked baby out of the nest for one of its first flights….the fledgling called back and forth with its parents the whole time. Taken in Martha’s Vineyard along protected shoreline.

as for the fledgling, the screaming noise of “look at me” was amazing as one of the parent birds sat on a near by telephone pole answering back every once in a while.

Actually yeah – there’s meant to be one or two up the road in Kirriemuir, and I know there’s a few in Loch Garten. We have ospreys :)
