I’m 75 years old and live in Northern California, USA. It seems like I have been taking photographs all my life, beginning with an old black Kodak Wood Front Cartridge Box Camera that had a viewfinder on top for vertical photographs and one on the right side for horizontal photographs. The camera was held at waist level as you peered down into the appropriate viewfinder. I started very young, which is probably why I don’t appear in a lot family photos (I was behind the lens).
I have used a variety of cameras over the years and have settled (for the time being) on a Panasonice Lumix DMC-FZ150 and a Canon Power Shot A1100 IS, both of which can be stuffed in a coat, hoody or cargo shorts pockets. In past years I carried a number of lenses with me, but have decided that I want to travel light. I find that the above two cameras gives me a pretty good range.
Regarding my subject preferences, as you can see from my photos I don’t have a specific theme. I photograph those things which interest, intrigue, tickle, move and wow me.
I still often think of that old Kodak and the black and white photos it took.
Thanks for stopping by.
