Climbing Mt. St. Helens, a layer of clouds had developed at just above timberline. I was climbing solo, and stopped for a brief break to take in some of the sights. Behind me a climbing party I had already passed was approaching.
As I looked down on them, approaching through the fog, the fresh blanket of snow, the utter quietness, and the morning sun trying to burn through the fog made for a very surreal, yet beautiful image of climbers headed for the summit. This was probably my favorite shot of the entire climb.
