And it had that sleepy feel that my body craves

And all I wanted to do was climb under the covers
And into that other realm of stars and clouds and soft monkeys
Slip away from today for awhile

But I creaked my bones and stiffened my spine
And walked straight out with the hair band in my hand
Tied up my locks and sat back down
Set back to work: the grind; the fun; the frown
