Pioneer Town Museum in Cedaredge, Colorado. We taught an HDR class in the Apple Packing Shed, another of the buildings here, and the students practiced their skills here. What a gorgeous place. It would take days to explore thoroughly.

HDR 4 exposures @2EV Photomatix and Photoshop.

Great result Dick, they make an excellent subject for HDR treatment :-)

  • Thank a bunch Matt. I have been fascinated by glass. The colors really came out too.

Perfect image for HDR, Dick, and yet it’s quite subtle in this result! Gotta love glass as a subject….especially with so many different shapes and textures!

  • Thanks Mel. Also a reminder of a different time, when “putting away” for the winter was very important.

great pic, the HDR treatment works so well and so differently with this glass display. Great capture RJ

  • Thanks Tom. In some spaces HDR is the only way to capture the dynamic range of the scene. These spaces have low lighting and with the clouds reflecting from and through the glass, from side windows, I expect this covered at least 14 stops of dynamic range.
The display has many meanings. To most is it history, to me also it is light and color.

I have a collection of pretty glass jars ….your image is wonderful.
The HDR shows the reflection of the light, gorgeously Dick

  • Thank you Sandra. They did catch my eye on the high shelves. Wished for a taller tripod and a step ladder. Gorgeously is a nice complement…

They look like they each have a story to tell us ….
I watch a program from time to time that has all different types of collections…I am not so inclined but I find the whole collecting rather fascinating as an observer.
The light merges into each of the jars like a ricochet affect… :O))

  • Thanks for a new way to express that scene. Ricochet light, is a cool idea. When the light is gentle, the colours come out to play…

Love jar collections…..the colours here enhance their transparency….would love to see this place!

  • It was a “General Store” so just full of examples of that was sold in days gone by. I would love to get more images from there too. As well as in the other 10 or so places on “Main St”
