Gorgeous!!!!!!
Do you like the 50D?
rjcolby replied
Thanks Susi. Yes I really like to the 50D, but this is from the XSi just before I got the 50D. The faster burst rate, and 1 EV faster shutter speed, with the larger buffer, makes this work easier to do.

I could sit and look at this for a long time! Beautiful colours here, you captured them so well!

We were three hours, at that location, watching and waiting for the clouds to let the sun through to highlight both the aspens and the peak. The anticipation and quiet when we could finally see it coming. Five cameras came to life at the same time, 6 PM, and each got a slightly different look.

LOL….I could sit and look at your photo for hours, but I suspect I would have wandered off to shoot something else instead of sitting for 3 hours waiting for the light…..I have a short atte…..........

This is awesome what a magical looking place, beautiful shot!

Stunning Image!! Has a 3-D feel to it you can get lost in this image!
rjcolby
It was a wonderful place to spend some time with friends, while watching for the light to shine through. We all did shoot plenty of other pictures, until the time drew near, then it became pretty quiet. I almost hated to press the shutter and be the first to break the silence, but I did…
Thanks for the comments.

Wonderful autumn tonings! Just beautiful!
rjcolby replied
Thanks Tracy. We will be up in those mountains in late July, looking for spring wildflowers. Then again in Sept for the colors.

Wow Great work, love the tones.
Featured in the HDR Grouprjcolby replied
Thanks Alex. Getting featured is pretty nice. This one was worth it, in every sense. The time, the friends there, the feeling of nailing it. So, thank you for the confirmation.

Beautiful image. The HDR works perfectlt in this photo.
rjcolby replied
I agree. Seemed I only got to choose the framing. The rest chose itself, including the style of HDR processing.

“A true artist must suffer for his art” – you did and it paid off… this is stunning light. and a stunning capture – WONDERFUL!
rjcolby replied
I think the best part was not suffering, but spending quality time with friends, while connecting with the beautiful scene. We took many pictures leading up to this moment, but quieted down as the light began to work. We were “in tune”. Five friends, patiently in tune with the developing scene. Doesn’t get any better than that.

Something to be said for taking time to get in tune with a place..

rjcolby replied
Thanks. I may be capturing more of the realistic scenes next week in the desert on a six day visit.

Thanks all for the comments. I will get to exploring your work as I can, but the next month, roughly, is quite filled up, so not much time for chat till mid May.
