Bee-holding beauty by

Bee treading lightly on forget-me-nots. I wonder what those large black eyes actually see? Perhaps it’s beyond our spectrum of vision…

Canon 550D with Sigma 105 macro.
Exmoor, West Country, UK, May 2012.

Dave.

I am a keen amateur photographer enjoying wildlife and nature images taken in West Somerset and on Exmoor.
I am a grandfather and enjoy my reclusive life on the edge of Exmoor, among the wildlife, birds, and nature.
I hope to learn more skills and techniques from some of the amazing artists on this site.

What a great shot! If I remember correctly from science class (a loooooong time ago!), bees have compound eyes , so they probably get something of a fish-eye view of the world. But don’t quote me on that!

  • Much appreciated comments, Lou. Hey, I vaguely remember that too about compound eyes…..must be a fascinating way to see the world!!
    All the best,
    Dave ;-)
