Is it Spring yet? ..........frog takes a look by

Luckily the tadpoles survived the frosts and are now growing healthily. This is a young frog in my pond, peeking out and wondering if it is warm enough yet for a bit of sunbathing.

Exmoor, UK. Late April 2013.
Canon 550D + Sigma 105 macro.

I am a keen amateur photographer enjoying wildlife and nature images taken in West Somerset and on Exmoor.
I am a grandfather and enjoy my reclusive life on the edge of Exmoor, among the wildlife, birds, and nature.
I hope to learn more skills and techniques from some of the amazing artists on this site.

  • Hello Rick, glad you like him………there should be a few more surfacing once the weather finally decides to warm up a bit!
All the best, your river picture is a cracker, one of the best I’ve seen in a long time!

How wonderful to see Jeremy back after your long and hard winter! You should tell your inventive way of saving his kids, Dave! Delightful shot – just love your frogs!! Such great detail!

  • This one was mainly for you, friend, as I know you are a fan of Jeremy! Yes, covering frogspawn with bubble wrap to prevent it freezing does work! There are many young tadpoles around now, I will hopefully get a satisfactory pic very soon, as they’re hard to photograph. Thanks for your encouragement and Jeremy says ‘Hi’ to you! A friendly greeting from his pond across The Big Pond!
    Dave ;-)

Hay que darle la noticia de que la primavera ha llegado……..
    Nunca he visto algo semejante.
    Me parece una curiosidad………
Me impresiona ver como encuentras estas vistas…
Hay que rastrear los campos y conocer los escondites …
( escribo español .Prefiero que tú hagas la traducción )

He’s looking at you so trustingly. (Here’s where one can employ that big word again)! Lovely pic.

  • ;-) ;-) You are a good teacher, Bette, am learning……slowly! Yes, the dialogue was short and sweet with him….“Hi, froggie”………“Oh, it’s you…when’s the water going to warm up?? Flippin’ cold!”
    All the best,
    Dave.
