Thank you, Eva! I’m honored that you like them. We haven’t got many colors really in the wintertime. I have noticed lately that I’m trying to find some strong colors around me to lighten up this long winter :o)

Oh, and about the lack of colors… yes, that was one of the most difficult aspects of the Finnish winter for me… the other one was that I’ve never learned to balance myself well while walking on ice… lol. fell a few times and hurt my wrists and shoulders.

  • Thank you Gili! Winter would be nicer if it wasn’t sooo long. Most of all I hate the darkness. It’s a lot worse than the cold. Now that the snow has melted I can’t wait for the spring: sun, birds, green, free waters…

I know what you mean;-) I get down and lose energy because of lack of sun in winter. In Holland we may have somewhat longer days, but it’s grey a lot. However, though a short period of snow is beautiful, the 4 months snow covering the earth in Finland makes the world a bit too black and white. Here we hardly have snow;-)

I love the deceptive simplicity of your pictures of the life and simple beautiful things around you.

  • Thank you so much, John! Very kind of you and makes me feel that I must be doing something right. My passion is not only to identify the beauty around me but also to create something beautiful of imperfection.
