G’day Holly,

Great use of depth of field has rendered a very good bokeh, (look that one up!), your focus is good, you hve chosen a good specimen, the eyes are clear and the colours nice and natural.
HOWEVER! (Dontcha just hate that?)
I feel this image is let down by poor composition. We have all made the mistake (and at times repeat it) in being so carried away in making the shot that we have the subject smack bang in the centre of frame as you have done here.
Another error that is quite easily made is in using the landscape format for a vertical subject as you have done.
I feel that were you to make a vertical crop of this fine emu, placing it slightly off centre, the image would have more impact and balance.
