Pseudonyms

To believe you is …to be vulnerable,
To open, to be open
voluntarily
my mind,
my heart, my soul,
To put all these on the line
Trust – a single thread
A tightrope – of doubts, the unquenchable fears
The soul rendering questions –
The intensity of wanting to know
Just one thing…
Are you who you say you are

And I don’t even want anything from you
Just the truth.. your friendship.. to know you…
The plain truth
You hide behind half sentences, in pseudonyms,
In assumptions and implications
You will not share you or of yourself with me
But hold you to yourself, to your facades
The layers of deception
You clench, bind – unrelenting to give way
A little bit of you
To be vulnerable
To trust
To open
To show me the enigma of you.

    Ouch.
    It seems a small thing to ask that one be open with another;
it is a huge leap of faith if one has once given the truth and seen it trampled:
    one hesitates.
    Thank you.

Beautifully written, it oozes honesty. I love this piece so much – I have this situation myself and I can relate to this very easily – you express feeling so fluidly, so clearly – very well done on your feature – very well deserved indeed.
