Digital oil painting from three of my photos – landscape, sky and horse. I shot the original photo at Jondaryan Woolshed, west of where I live. The event was Heavy Horse Day. Makes my day just to wander around with my camera and look at these beautiful intelligent creatures. Thanks for looking :-)

    Such a lovely painting! Love the colours and the flowers! If you say digital oil painting, is it totally treated on the computer?.....as I thought it was a real oil painting. So talented you are!

    Thanks Susan, yes it’s totally digital. Some of those “brushes” are amazing how they look real. I love my tablet for painting but don’t do enough. Maybe I’ll do more now :-)

    Thank you all for your wonderful comments :-) Ellen, I usually use a few image editing programs including PhotoImpact and just mess around with brushes – this pic went through a few. I’ve got Painter too – it’s a raved-about program but I’ve tried a few times to get the hang of it and never persist.

    Another very well done piece .. by ‘piecing together’ the various gatherings of the lens. So much fun to work like this. Do you use a tablet? If so, which? If not – oh then you should! You would just go ‘hog wild’ with it. ”. ) Keep up the fine work.

    Yes I use a table, J – a Wacom Intuos 2 4×5. Wonderful invention, couldn’t do without it. Thanks for your insightful comments here and for the fave too :-)

    Thanks Dave. I love digital art BUT I do prefer the expressiveness (whole body involvement) of real life painting. Sometimes I get frustrated with working with a little pen on a little tablet with a little screen (yes I know screens can be bigger but they’re still not as big as a table or a desk!) and then I have to get out and get creative away from my pc.
