The official version of events suggests that this ferris wheel never turned; the grand opening was to be on Labour Day on May 1st, five days after “The Accident.”

The unofficial version, however, suggests the ferris wheel didn’t stop turning in the run up to evacuation; anxious residents waiting to be evacuated were encouraged to ride the ferris wheel in a futile attempt to distract themselves from the disaster that was unfolding on their doorstep.

“A photograph is always invisible; it is not it that we see.” Roland Barthes.

Amazing composition in this one. It really gives a sense of the bigger picture.

I like te unofficial version of the story, it certainly seems plasable to me.

  • Cheers. This could well be my favourite of the whole trip. :)
