Last light -Rivington
Mixed media on canvas (100×100cm) 2009.
This painting follows a period of muted work where concious restriction of pallette aimed to fit in with the kind of work people expect to see. This is the very antithesis. I’m trying to recapture the deep saturation and rich colours I remember from that evening, the flourecent greens and yellows of the rocks and the delicate pink to blue sky hidden by the infinite filigree of tree branches.
Rapidly worked in ink then tinted using transparent colour laquer in a spraycans, final touches applied in oil paint.
