I’ve been shooting since 1971. I recently made the switch from film to 99% digital and it was PAINFUL!!!!
Had to sell my beloved RB67s and all the lenses, backs, etc…WAHHHHH!
The technical end of changing to digital was was easy for me as I have shot many thousands of transparencies and that experience made digital imaging not hard to grasp.
Areas I like work in involve glamour, landscapes, events, portraits, headshots, and high rise construction/renovation shots (still using 4×5 film for this) and business meetings. I love to create in Photoshop and have found it be a great replacement to traditional wet darkroom work.
I have taught photo classes to children and adults for many years and have served as Vice-President and Board member to the Chicagoland Professional Photographers Association.
I owe a lot to the lovely models I have worked with over the years that have taught me more than I can possibly thank them for.
I also pilot light aircraft and fly mostly for fun. Sometimes I take pictures for several state Aeronautics Divisions showing pilots what to look for when they fly into backcountry wilderness areas in the Pacific northwest.
When I feel the need to recharge my creative juices, I spend hours at Red Rock Canyon outside Las Vegas and the Valley of Fire nearby. Hiking some trails in those places with my camera has given me the opportunity to create some very personal meaningful images.
