hOw dO yOu see the wOrld…..
many would say that this calender is ‘full of rubbish’ and i would have to agree. what you will be viewing within this calender is item/textures that have been disguared/ thrown out/ left to decay and even put into the bin/dumpster/skip. i photograph the everyday old decaying items of intrest i come across, and they are everywhere, just walk down your local neighbourhood street, there will be some kind of peeling or decay or disregared pile of something of some kind, take time out to actually look at this rubbish, not ‘overlook’ it and just maybe instead of expecting to see the obvious grimey distasteful pile of garbage, you see something ‘eye catching’ thats looking, well quite nice where the dirty decaying horribleness should be. a piece of art, maybe, hiding itself away just there where you were expecting to see somekind of disregarded unsightly smelly mess. hey its still seen by me as someone elses rubbish but disguising itself as something art worthy with ideals of grandure, takeing centre stage in the main room on the feature wall and looking ‘gooood’ now no one could ever guess that ‘its just another bit of rubbish’ hanging in pride of place. a piece of art you could take pride in calling a true piece of rubbish art…
for me as i cant keep my lens out of the rubbish i come across, well then i guess im gonna have to stand tall and admit to one and all that i am proud to announce that i am a rubbish photographer..
note – when getting up close and personal with any kind of everyday decay, you dont have to touch it, ooo no, yuck, but if there is a stick close by why not have a little poke about the ole thing, you may just be strangly glad you did once you see some visual delights that are hidden underneath.. camera poised and ready
