Maaaam ...
A compilation of 7 images, mainly from the stunning area around Beddgelert in the Snowdonia National park, Wales, UK.
I thought that I’d try and tug at a few emotions with this one …..... when out walking you always hear the lambs calling thier mums when they manage to wander off and get seperated ….....
Software ~ Adobe Photoshop CS3
Tutorial for the DigitalArt Compilations group
I opened the seven images that I intended using.
I chose my background image.
Using the lasso tool, I selected an area off another image and then dragged it onto the background layer using the move tool.
Once it was in position I then added a layer mask to it, after selecting a soft brush and picking black I brushed out any unwanted areas of the dragged image.
I repeated the process with the remaining images.
Everytime you drag an image on, photoshop creates a new layer and to ensure each image tied in, I adjusted the levels for every one.
Once I had all of the components in place, I merged all visible layers.
I then duplicated the layer.
Now it was time for the dodging, burning, curves, unsharp mask and render filter.
Finally merge visible layers and save .

Hi Janis, so glad you have experienced it, I particularly like Beddgelert and surrounding area, it’s a mecca for hikers and mountain walkers, with 14 peaks above 3000ft just down the road, I find it difficult to keep away, in fact, I’ve spent quite a few weekends there over the past few months !! Thank you …. :))

Tis easy. Get the young lamb to do the RB jig across the rocks – I’ll show him how!
Nicely pieced together Richie – You appear to be seeking more and more images for inspiration and I would just love to sit and watch you put one of these together.
richiedean replied
Ha, that lamb is considerably smaller than you and the water is usually just a trickle at that point, but due to the low cloud scraping the mountain tops, it became a raging torrent and I would pay good money to see you do the RB jig across it ….....
Looks like I’ll have to compile a tutorial DVD …... cheers Stuart ..

I am a prawn cocktail fan, then for dessert it must be either sticky toffee pud or rhubarb crumble with custard LOL
richiedean replied
Cripes Michael, you like your grub dont you ….. I’d be full after the prawns, lol …..
Michael Oubridge
You need plenty grub to be able to throw trees around all day, well when i say all day , you have to take time off for lunch and morning break and time off for photographing bugs and fungi, not forgetting the views from work that Stuart really loves me taking to remind him what the countriside looks like compared to the carpark where he works LOL
richiedean replied
I see what you mean, you must expend a lot of energy in that hour of frantic tree throwing …....
