The Watkin Path ...
This derelict cottage lies on the Watkin path which takes you to the summit of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales UK. Hundreds of people pass it by every year on their way to the top. there are several waterfalls that cascade down the mountain after heavy rain, you should be able to see one to the right of the cottage …..... and yes, I have made it to the top …...

Michael Oubridge
Taking the train to the top is cheating Richie LOL
Another fantastic image mate.
richiedean replied
It is cheating Michael, that’s why I walked it !! Cheers buddy !
Lois Romer
fantastic image. well done for making the climb ( iassume thats the only way to the top.)
richiedean replied
Actually, there is a train, on the other side of the mountain, it runs on a special track that stops it from rolling back down the slope, but I chose to climb it … Thank you Lois :))
joak

Mel Brackstone

LOL How long did it take Richie? I think it was the Ranger route i did many years ago. Long before i was interested in photography, good job really as the weather was attrocious.
richiedean replied
5 hours up, 4 hours down, the weather was very changeable, had to keep taking my clothing on and off !!!

Gorgeous work Richie,
Linda Callaghan
great shot – i wonder how you do all those special affects – your photos have a unique look about them – excellent images
richiedean replied
Thank you Linda, I create those effects from my experience of messing around in Adobe Photoshop CS3, for hours and hours, plus countless books and tutorial DVDs ….. but I still have time to go hiking …. :))

Richie and his walking boots! You must hacve walked every inch of Wales by now on your many walks into your wonderfully peaceful and tranquil countryside.
Doing so, finds places of seemed abandonance like here which makes for a lovely view. The texterous brickwork framed by delicate but unkept cobwebs enhancing the feeling that you have stumbled across a site unseen by the masses as nature just continues all by itself.

There are countless sites that I have found that fit that category Stuart .. I sometimes wish that I had a whole team of Bubblers with me to experience them …. but as you say, walking boots and gear are required …..... I haven’t quite walked every inch of Wales as yet, but I’m trying my hardest …... could make a good book …..
Cheers Stuart, always enjoy your elaborations :))
Steven de Siow
This is really awesome.

brilliant
budrfli
fantastic find and view, must be so exhilarating to be there!
richiedean replied
Exhilarating, is the appropriate word budrfli, surrounded by 14 summits above 3000ft, steeped in history laid bare for all to see, dripping with natural features, pitting your wits against the weather, picnic in your backpack for a fine weather sheltered moment ….. it’s unbeatable and I love it …....... thank you :))
kernuak
It tells a real story. While the processing adds drama, I think it’s the leaning fence in the foreground that really makes it.
richiedean replied
Cheers kernuak, I’m glad you like the leaning fence, it’s constructed from shards of slate, which is in abundence here in Wales ….. but I have to confess … I added it in Photoshop, for that very reason …..
kernuak
I don’t have the patience for doing too much post produstion lol.
