taken in auto mode on my compact camera.. (sony dsc h3)
works out at F8.0 and 1/200sin honesty i hated this picture, but i played around with the curves and a few mask techniques on lightroom2 and my vision was cleared.
still yet to figure out why! (its out of focus on purpose fyi)
the vent is on the outside of the springfield brewery in wolverhampton… the brewery was burnt down by vandalls in 2004… a huge blaze consumed the building, built in 1873, commisioned by william butler, and finally resided in the hands of mitchells and butler breweries… the building is now in rubble, only the outside walls and main gates are left standing.. it’s guarded day and night at the moment with barbed wire running around the entire parameter..
the vent leads from outside the brewery to the unroofed rubble on the ‘inside’… when you think about it, that vent has brought fresh air to the workers for just under 133 years.. pretty magnificent thing really.
