Tradition. Technology
An Indian lady’s hands painted with the natural herbal dye, henna – signifying that she is a new bride – grapple with modern technology.
Image captured at the Singapore Bird Park, which seems a popular destination for honeymooning couples from India.

your fascination with hands intrigues me – they are all lovely captures – but why the hands?
richardseah replied
Ha ha Rochelle,
Good question with a long answer. Yes, I am fascinated with hands – and I actually found another Red Bubbler with a similar fascination, Hena Tayeb
For me, it was my ex-wife who first pointed out the expressiveness of hands. That sparked my interest, helped by some early successes. The first ever hands photograph I took still remains one of my all time favourites.
I am actually working on a book of Photographs of Hands. Will inform everyone here once it is ready ;-)

Thanks “aspects” for being a hand-fan too :-)

hahaha I like this one a lot. It’s great when photos are more than just an image.

Thanks so much acpolkowski. And I appreciate it when people comment on my old, almost-frgotten photos.
