This is such a beautiful image – it is making me very excited for my holiday in Keswick in August :) The serenity it has is very powerful and you can really feel the empathy you have with this landscape – just wonderful :)

I can’t remember the name but its those lodges by the river as you first come into the town from Hexham – we fancied being near the town this time so we don’t have to drive everywhere and can go for a pint at night :) Don’t worry though we won’t disturb the peace lol!!!

I was back in the Lake District again a few years ago after living in Australia for over thirty years and had forgotten just how beautiful parts of it are. This lovely shot brings it all back.

You are very lucky to live where you do – it’s one of my favourite places on the planet. Looking at your photos I can hear the wind, smell the earth, taste the water, smell the freah air and feel the cold :) Makes me wish I was there again.
You seem to use HDR – is this so? HDR is something I’d like to try for myself.

thanks very much for the comments, much appreciated. I use what ever works best HDR, PS blending or ND filters. it depends on the scene my wide lens wont take filters so if I shoot very wide I nearly allways have to use some blending option.

Wow. This is so incredible that I’m speechless. But, I better say something. Rich, as so many said before me, it is a masterpiece. Not only because every single technical aspect here is perfect, far more than that. You have captured here the essence of what is for me the Lakeland: the mountains, hills, the wild beauty and that priceless sunset.

What a majestic image. The way the clouds hang dramaticaly on the right with the sun breaking through with the rays is amazing. Way to catch the timing of this special weather condition.
