Man contemplates stairs by

There are times,
when the smallest task
needs contemplation;

when the obvious way forward
might not be so wise, or may
present unimagined trials or failure;

when a pause
to reflect on what is real,
and what is illusion…

would occupy a mere moment, and
yet be worth so much more
than arriving on time.

    Top shot Bernard.

  • Thanks John, I’ve been lurking under the Bridge too much!!!
You will notice some movement on the SITHOM2013 site at the moment. We are about to open for submissions – just getting the formatting working (more complex than 2012). I’ll be sending an email very soon.

Holy Photomontage! No, wait : Bernard strikes again with the real vs. the improbable.
To which stratum of the Universe will you rise if you grip the crooked rail and ascend….

  • Hee hee! You always guess what’s up Margot :-)
You know my motivation “real vs. the improbable”; oh if only I could do that all the time.
He will mount the stairs and meld with the window which will warp and flow back into place on his passing – he will enter a world of music and fantasy, and believe me… he will never return :-)

Yes this image is totally real – not so the next one along, though:

Try flicking from one to the other and watch the man pop in and out – it’s rather fun really.

This is fabulous, almost like he’s looking into a different realm !

  • Thanks Berns, this window is marvelous, it’s reasonably new, but its reflections are deep and mercurial/ You can see the tables and chairs inside as well as the reflected bridge outside.
a fantasy realm for sure :-)

Very nice, Bernard. The reflection in the glass makes it look as if the young man is thinking about trying to walk through the glass! Hehe, it looks as though he suddenly shot up a few inches and hasn’t gottrn around to buying some new pants yet!!! Well seen.

  • He was behaving very oddly so I started shooting him on the quiet and the photos became quite surreal. And yeah he could do with longer pants – all adds to the photo though don’t you think?
Thanks. I hope you had a good christmas and may 2013 be rewarding.

Hope you’ve found and will find some interesting ones – not always fun going alone.

  • Sometimes you need to be alone because nobody will be patient enough to hang with you, LOL.

Ooh that wobbly rail really complements the surreal reflection, looks like he’s about to enter Wonderland.

  • There are so many “off” pieces of geometry in this shot and our “twin” subjects with their antics just set it all the more “off”. All I can say is, my unwitting subjects at this location are remarkably cooperative – it could become a real haunt :-)

I do think! I wonder if the day was warm or cool – “short” pants and what looks like a flannette shirt. O hadd a very nice Christmas and a quiet New Year – I thought about voming into the city but left it too late to decide for either – and thank you for your wishes regarding this year. I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and that this year is healthy and fully of prosperity for you and yours.

  • I can’t remember if it was hot or not – I tend to enter the “zone” when I’m alone and notice nothing but the movement. Christmas for us was quiet – we hibernated; it’s been a rough year. But 2013 is going to be remarkable – that’s my prediction :-)
