What has been special about this day,
that I could enter in my diary,
as progress?
My passage, light-footed and wary,
one step at a time,
little by little,
always gets me through
this minefield.
This care I am famous for,
makes me invisible by day,
and guides me to this window
to watch the others,
gliding homeward with familiar grace,
to loved ones waiting with living memories
and no need of diaries.

Yes I know these days well, great write & image Bernard !!
Thank you Karen, I have held this back for a long time, waiting for the words – glad you like the combination :-)

The words are wonderfully thought-provoking, well worth the wait.
The pic is pretty damn good too. :)
Thank you Maree, I often have ideas that don’t gell for sometime and then the words pop up. I love to merge words and images and this one needed words.

Great image Rhoufi of composition, timing and balance, well done.
Thanks Josh, always plenty to see on Platform 4/5 at Flinders Street at rush hour.

Peeking out – many questions. Well done
Yes she was doing just that and being short put her face very low – it created an image I had to take. Thanks Alan

Maybe one has had to be a work-a-day commuter to feel the profound sadness and self-revelation here.
Beautiful, Bernard : reality speaks in your words and works.
You see all I had in my mind when I raised the camera, Margot. If I can use reality to inspire ad image and words that contain some form of meaning then I am very happy. Even if 1 in 1000 or my works achieve this that’s enough. Thank you for that observation Margot, it’s my holy grail :-)

yes, thought provoking in many ways !
You would see all sorts of sad and happy realities in the faces of people you photograph Berns – it’s why you raise the camera, it’s the underlying motivation of the street photographer. Thank for commenting – perhaps it was your “platform” series that helped me fond the words to go with this image.

That’s fabulous, Rhoufi!
Thanks Mel – a bit of gritty Flinders Street melancholy :-)
