Oscar Wilde – “The Picture of Dorian Gray”
Lovely image Rhoufi – bow poised over the strings just waiting to feel that loving caress and release its sighs of pleasure! :-)
“release its sighs of pleasure!” What a beautiful phrase! Thank you :-)I love the way they are automatically joining with their instruments, and at the same time engaging with their friends; their hands are finding the place as their minds a joining their friends. I love orchestras :-)
Wonderful light and depth, Rhoufi!
Thanks Mel, aren’t the cello and the double base such rich glorius colours, glowing in the dark background?
fantastic, rich composition :)
Thank you Karin, yes rich and so full of subjects.
The joy of sharing music together is hard to equal. This captures that feeling nicely.
Thank you Denis :-) Yes that was what I was trying to capture. I was poised as they set up their music, arranged their instruments and began tuning up. You could see the ones who were good friends with those next to them and sensed the rapport they had. So as they came closer to the silence before the start they whispered to each other and readied themselves. This group shared a joke and I was able to capture those wonderful expressions which sort of glow from this image. They were supporting Sol Gabetta that wonderful cellist; it was a superb concert:
They are stand out colours, Rhoufi!
Thanks Mel, if you come back to this comment you can enjoy the Video I posted in the comment before. How I love that instrument :-)
Great video. Thanks Rhoufi.
My pleasure, Denis.
The shadows, highlights, that glorious honey wood, those sensuous curves, the curlicues, the bows, those eyes, the smile those hands…aah, those hands waiting, just waiting to join , together, in the celebration of expressing the moods and the music swirling through them, out of them and into us….just so…a joyful collaboration. Beautiful photograph, my friend…..
Thank you daor Sass, all of what you say are why I took it. This little group had my interest during the warm up – a little string group within a huge orchestra. The light, the timing and the camera all came together. I bet they’d love a copy :-))Thanks for the fav also, and your ever diligent watchfulness :-))~B
Joyous. . . .you have captured that so well :-) Cecily
Thanks Cecily – music, words and pictures, such lovely passions.
brilliant shot of these guys Rhoufi
Thanks Christine, I tried this in B+W, but without the colour of the cellos it was diminished.
