The lonely game in town by

A forest of Bentwood chairs cluster around the marble-top tables of Cafe Delphi near closing time. They make the best Galaktobouriko… better than Athens; better than all of Greece!!! Just ask the Oracle!

love the way the street enters in the reflections in the counter / tabletop. You can feel the lingering presence of people now gone.

  • Thanks Evelyn – in fact there may be very slight ghosts in the frame because the shutter speed was so slow, passing people on the footpath did not show up much at all. Thanks for your comment.

Ah what a familiar streetscape, yet so intimate presented as a table’s eye view from inside. Great reflections in the marble and leading lines R!

  • Art in our backyard, eh? Next time you’re down that end of Puckle drop in and indulge in a Galaktobouriko and a coffee. Actually you may need someone to share the Galakto, they’re huge. I love it down there – takes me back to Kythera!!! ;-))))

reminds me of life after people there is not even anyone walking outside :)) well caught

  • I love that idea that the world’s built structures will go one when we have all perished and how bizarre it will look 500 years after the last human. Thanks Christine

hmmm, I’ll check Greece first ;-))))

  • You would know, Paris has so many cafés. But when You go to Greece, tell me because I’ll tell you the very best place to go, the very best place in the whole of Greece. Of course it’s secret, but for You I’ll tell. Merci Madame ;-)))

ha! I love the way you see things!

  • You again! I’ll have to make you a coffee soon ;-))) The struggle I have is capturing what I “see” with my camera. That’s the joy and frustration of the art isn’t it? I see that you have 788 photos in your gallery, oh boy, it’s going to be long wander for me!!! I was in Spain (Barcelona) in May this year, so I hope to post many Spanish photos once I have processed them all. So good to have you look at my photos Berns.
