Clever prose Roufi! I like the staggered effect, and the inferred renunciation of negativeness. Complaining is a cloud that hides the way that you refer to in line 1. I also like all the contradictions (inferred) in the requests: that infallible is better, that fame is beauty, and that the words of wisdom don’t make all these things come true. I like to think spatially about contradiction: imagine if the viewer of the wall stopped looking at the wall and turned around 180 degrees and was then able to see the world and all of us through the computer screens..what would the viewer then understand?
Hi Ben, thank you for this. I have been noticing more and more the way people seek answers from others to questions of how they should lead their lives, or what opinions they should have. In response to this need, has been a rise in the number of sources of “authorative” advice. The Point of View created in this image is that of the photographer and the camera, as if reporting to the whole world which piece of wisdom this particular viewer will adopt – because when this person chooses, they will be added to the numbers that sway the waiting world to adopt the same. It happens on a personal and a mass scale. This is a contemplation on the incessant polls, driven by media feedback loops, that in turn manufacture populism – the manipulation of independent thought. Thank you for such a thoughtful comment.

Interesting response Roufi. I agree. I think I want the viewer to turn around so that he/ she can’t see what others have written, but just to look at the world and imagine his./ her own solution….independent thought. Like a neolithic hunter in the woods. All alone, looking for signs, sensing the world as it really is.
