The Storm Within by Rhoufi

Sometimes the tempest within is worse than the storm without.
Too much reflection can cause us to neglect what is happening in the real world
and where we can fit in.
There is a balance to be found…

… somewhere… out there… or in here.

Oh are these original words? are you inside my head? Listening to me loudly reflecting? LOL..love how you composed this, so very clever my friend!

  • Hi Ang, yes the words are mine, my unsettled musings. You know how sometimes you just get sick of your worries and you want to open the windows and let fresh air blow through your mind, blow away the bad smells ;-) My mum used to call it “airing the house”. It’s just what occurred to me when I saw the darkest clouds in the windows. Strange light that day. Strange photographer, maybe. Thank you so much for being the first to comment – the first to comment are always my favourites :-)))

I love that “airing of the house” If you don’t mind, I would like to use this myself… greatly appreciate your words and thoughts tonight, they ring so true for both the reader/viewer and your wonderful strange reflection :)

  • Be my guest. There is no greater compliment for me than to have my words or photos inspire someone else to make more art. Most pleased by your wonderful response :-)))))

Maybe the balance to be found is within, Love the photo, the muted colors and graphically strong. :) tony

  • Ah for sure! Easy to understand why we withdraw sometimes; this crazy world seems closer to subconscious folly than reality – my nightmares seem tame in comparison; a balance can be found… somewhere. Thanks for commenting on the geometry it is powerful isn’t it, and the colours a real bonus.

Beautiful tones, colour and lines! Lovely image!

  • Thank you Damienne, the subject seemed apt given the madness of the last few days. Notice how restrained I have been to limit the Description so it fits in view; aargh… creative constriants limit us so :-(

Strong powerful imagery and reflection! Love the bold lines and color! Great word to match!

  • Thank you Joanne. Strong bold architecture deserves a close up photo and the strange light on the day work to my advantage.

awesome image and sentiments I can definitely connect with. I am always conscious that the clouds are, of their nature, ephemeral….

  • Thanks Evelyn. The events of the last few days stirred me to post this. Clouds play their roll in moods too, ever changing and fleeting.

Intriguing reflections, emotional ones and physical 3D.

  • I find that many photos just sit on my HD for ages until they mature (or I do!) and then suddenly I can see some meaning in them, however obscure, and so I have to finish the process by posting them. I’m very happy you see something of the metaphor that I have forced on this innocent building ;-)))

  • Thanks Athex. I see you found “Shot in the Heart of Melbourne”!! Keep watching, we’re getting closer to opening the virtual doors to the Exhibition nursery; few more days hopefully, then we’ll contact you.
