Colour and style at the recent protest rally in Melbourne against the ridiculous, proposed anti-swearing Laws.
You’ve either got it or you don’t, and well…
… these guys have got it!

Oscar Wilde – “The Picture of Dorian Gray”
A very interesting group. I think the guy in ‘green’ is staring right at you thinking “F*** dude, are you taking my picture.” :-)
No, that dude was putting himself in front of every camera he could find! Later he removed his shirt to reveal a torso covered in F***’s and S***’s. It was a day to be seen as much as possible. Sometimes politicians need to be shown up for how stupid they are and these guys did a really great job.
I’m not surprised you ask! We now have a Liberal State Govt. and our Premier is your classic, superior, high-minded, upper-class twit. He’s introduced legislation to make swearing in public illegal and subject to on the spot fines. This was a rally to challenge them to list publish all the illegal words so we know how much fine applies to each word!!!!!
When adults act like. idiots you have to call them out. It was day of megaphones and swearing as loud as you could. I mean what did they expect would happen – Australians would stop swearing; I mean really!!!
hah, you got that right, imagine trying to stop aussies swearing! Good grief!
Thanks for the overview, I’m pleased to see that idiocy isn’t only applied to Qld pollies….lol
So now we have pollies in VIC who can rival old Jo Bielke for idiocy. That doesn’t make us feel very good. In fact it’s difficult seeing anyone standing above the crowd at the moment ;-))
Wow that’s the first I’ve heard of it (should watch the news eh). How ridiculous! Great photojournalistic record Rhoufi. Speaking of upper class twits, is that our fine Premier at 0.47 ?
Thanks Georgie, it was Andrew Makowiecki who pointed it out to me and it was treated with all the disrespect it deserved. As far as Monty Python is concerned the face at 0.47 is EXACTLY right for our current Premier. I do love that sketch so much and it reminds me how much I miss the Pythons. Thanks
Great capture! Love the ‘medieval’ look of the red-headed guy on the right…..that could be a pike he’s holding as he prepares to charge the oncoming hordes!
Hi V, you have such a quirky eye. He does look exactly like a pikeman and would do about as much damage in a crowd with his dead cat on a stick ;-).Thanks.
Way cool capture!
Thanks Gena. They look weird don’t they? Like movie stars or something – too cool for school; that’s for sure ;-))
What a fitting tableau for the proposed law. Such excellent anarchists, R!
Love a good anarchist, Jan (provided they leave their bombs at home!). Never having a “sense of style” myself, I am always drawn to those who do, however wild. I like your phrase “Excellent Anarchists” – sounds like a good name for a band ;-) Thanks Jan.
Like extras on a movie set…they each wait for the 15 minutes of fame allotted .I love that your keen eyes caught this tableau.Peace and peace again, daor~sass
Thank you daor Sass, for some reason they just glowed within the dark shadow under out famous Flinders Street Clocks… and they were indeed seeking fame without fortune. I’m so glad you like this… it was in our exhibition :-)All your peace and more accepted with thanks… we need all we can get :-)
