Along the banks of the Seine at night, the tribes emerge. Small groups colonize the small Medieval alcoves, ledges and recesses left over from centuries of distracted neglect. The character of this beautiful city relies on its age and the shadows cast in its quiet corners. Here lovers meet, thieves lie in wait, conspirators plot and photographers stalk.
The first thing I did in Paris was to take a night walk along La Seine, to see what was happening in one of its darkest places, to regain the feel of the City of Light that I left so long ago. And of course, the best light is in the darkest places.
Paris was always good to me, and after all this time it proved to be more special than ever before. Thank you Paris and merci beaucoup to you very special Bubblers who helped make it so memorable.
